Fresh-made burger roll!

Most days of the week, I don’t start my day until fairly late.  I try to get up at a reasonable hour anyways, do my reading, finish up any studying/paper writing and the like, but some mornings I also end up watching some daytime TV.  I end up watching a lot of Rachael Ray.  I actually find her pretty annoying, but sometimes the food segment of her show provides some inspiration, so I watch.  On Monday, there was a guy who was on the show because he held the world’s record for eating the most Big Macs.  Um… we honor people for that kind of behavior?  That’s kind of messed up.  The she made a burger that was so huge it “wouldn’t even fit in [her] mouth.”

Not the best inspiration, but inspiration nonetheless.

My burger is on a home-made roll, using the basic boule recipe from Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day: The Discovery That Revolutionizes Home Baking.  I just made a much smaller (1/4 of a 1 lbs piece), flatter and didn’t dust/slash the top.  I also did not use steam to bake it.  The burger is an Amy’s burger, and that’s a slice of Toffuti Cheese.  Served with guacamole, salad on the bottom, ketchup and mustard.  I bet it’s way better than Ms. Ray’s burger, though this one did not really fit in my mouth, either.
