This morning after I called my mom to wish her a happy Mother’s Day, I watched a Shirley Temple movie called Captain January. Shirley’s character has to take a placement exam for school, and her guardian in the movie is reviewing some bible stories with her, as he had told the Truancy Officer that she studied it daily. He asks her about the story of the prodigal son, and then asks, “Who wasn’t happy that the prodigal son came back?” Her answer? “The fatted calf.”
I’d totally give her credit on an exam for that answer!
